FAQs
What is What i Wore?
What I Wore is the fashion assistant you’ve always wanted. It’s an easy to use visual calendar diary of what you wore, when.
How do I use What i Wore?
Just take a selfie or a pic of your outfit on your bed and tap “save”. You can also import pics from your camera roll.
Next, choose Private or Public mode and start snapping pics of your outfits. Each shot is automatically saved to your calendar. You can save two shots per day, one for day and one for evening. Then, when you want to recall what you wore to a previous meeting, date or event with the same people and want to avoid the faux pas of wearing the same outfit, just check your WiW calendar.
What’s the difference between Public and Private mode?
Private mode is 100% private. You can take pictures of your outfits, tag them for future reference, and add captions—and no one will be able to see anything. People won’t even know you have the app.
Public mode adds functionality. It allows you to browse the outfits of other users, create a Friends List and use WiW’s Disaster Check to get quick opinions on your outfits before you leave the house.
In Public mode your images become public, so other fashion lovers can check out your style, too. But even in Public mode you retain the power to make any of your images 100% private with just a couple of taps. Captions are always 100% private.
You can switch between Public and Private at whim, with just a couple of taps.
How do I check what I wore to an event three months ago?
Just check your Calendar. All your outfits are saved there. Tap on the arrow at the top of the calendar to go to the month and you’ll see the photo(s) you snapped on each day. If you’ve added a caption (see below), you can search by a name or phrase you’ve entered.
Can I save a work outfit and an evening outfit?
No problem. What i Wore allows you to save two outfits per day. The first one will show up in your Day Calendar view, and the second outfit will show up in your Night Calendar view. You can view each calendar by itself or together.
Can I add a note to an outfit pic?
Yup. You can add a caption to any pic in your calendar at any time. It’s a great way to use WiW as a visual daily diary. Years down the road you’ll be able to see not just what you wore, but where you wore it to and who else was there.
Adding a caption also gives you an easy way to search to find the day you’re looking for. Just access the pull-down menu, type in a name or phrase you’ve entered and voila!
Note: captions are always private, never public, so only you will ever see them.
Tell me more about Disaster Check.
Disaster Check is our in-app chat feature. It gives you a quick way to get opinions on an outfit before you leave your house. If you like to push the fashion envelope a bit, your trusted friends can save you from an overly adventurous mood.
Using Disaster Check is super easy. Just “snap” then tap on Disaster Check and choose friends from your Friends List. Your friends will immediately see a request marked “Urgent” and you can chat about your outfit on the screen as much as you’d like.
When you’re done, you can choose to keep the entire chat for future reference or delete it.
How do I get people on my Friends List?
First, if you haven’t done so, make your account Public by going to your Profile screen. Then you can either click on someone’s outfit and invite them by clicking on their picture, or use the app’s Search Users feature.
What if my friend doesn’t have the WiW app?
What a shame. But easily rectified. Just tap the “Tell a Friend” link from your Friends screen and send her a note. She’ll receive it with a direct link to What i Wore in The App Store.
How many friends can I have on my Friends List?
As many as you’d like.
Tell me about the Browse feature.
Browse lets you see what other fashion conscious gals are wearing. It’s a great way to get ideas and make friends with someone who has a great sense of style. You can browse outfits from all WiW users, a particular fashionista you admire, or just those outfits you love and have marked as favorites.
You can also tailor your search with tons of filters in 6 categories: Item, Color, Print, Occasion, Look, and Personal Attributes like hair and eye color, skin tone, and body type.
Does WiW have privacy controls?
Yes. You have complete control at all times. You can choose to use What I Wore in Private mode, and no one will never even know you’re using the app. If you choose to go Public, other users can see your outfits. But even then, you can easily make individual outfits Private.
You can block specific users, or images, at any time, for any reason. If you see something inappropriate, it takes just a few taps to report it to us.
How much does What i Wore cost?
WiW is a subscription service. The price is $2.99 for one month, $11.99 for six months, or $14.99 for the year.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Sure. You can cancel your What i Wore subscription at any time through your iTunes account.
What if I’d like a refund?
Like all iOS apps, all payments are made to Apple, and all refunds are made by them. To request a refund, you must contact iTunes support within 14 days of your purchase.
Will my WiW subscription renew automatically?
Yup. For your convenience, and so you don’t miss logging any outfits in your outfit calendar, all subscriptions renew automatically. If you prefer, subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal turned off by going to your iTunes settings after purchase.
